Odyssey Engineering Group performed hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for the 400-acre Arabella on the Prairie single-family land development in Central Fort Bend County. We used HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS 1D/2D unsteady flow modeling in a hydraulically sensitive area to prove that the development would not adversely impact any flood hazard conditions of two tributaries of Big Creek, a major watershed in Fort Bend County. The development incorporates a series of interconnected amenity ponds to provide necessary detention and mitigation storage and offset development impacts. Odyssey performed drainage impact analysis studies for several phases of development, which also incorporate the Lamar Consolidated ISD’s Powerline Road Elementary School and Agricultural Center, a future expansion of Powerline Road, and provides an outfall for another nearby single-family development.
