Mr. Preston is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas with 25 years of Civil Engineering experience in the Houston area. His career has focused on Hydrology and Hydraulics. Mr. Preston has also worked in construction administration, land development design, and Municipal Utility District engineering. These early experiences helped provide a broad understanding of civil engineering design from the public and private perspectives.

Mr. Preston uses a hands-on approach to stormwater modeling and is proficient with a wide variety of software, including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D and 1D/2D), EPA-SWMM, XP-SWMM, HY-8, and ArcGIS. He has personally performed and supervised teams who have executed a wide variety of stormwater analyses, including land development impact analysis and detention design, transportation drainage, bridge and culvert design, floodplain modeling and mapping, FEMA Letters of Map Change (CLOMR, LOMR, LOMR-F), flood reduction projects, floodplain conveyance and mitigation projects, and Low Impact Development analysis and design.

Mr. Preston has performed projects in Fort Bend, Harris, Brazoria, Waller, Austin, Montgomery, and Galveston Counties, as well as in the Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan areas.
