Ms. Hughes found her way to Odyssey through professional connections and work in the MUD world. She has been a resident MUD Director for 28 years on the Fort Bend MUD 23 Board, showcasing her long-standing commitment to public service. Ms. Hughes also serves on the Association of Water Board Directors -Texas Board of Trustees. She is a proud Aggie, receiving a Bachelor of Speech Communication in 1989 and a Master of Public Administration in 1991.

Ellen’s unique perspective, grounded in her understanding of Odyssey’s work from a layman’s viewpoint, has been fundamental in guiding the firm’s growth. Since her arrival in 2018, when the company had 17 employees, she has played a key role in its expansion to nearly 60 employees. Her passion lies in ensuring the smooth operation of back-office functions, allowing the engineers to focus on engineering.

Ellen and her husband of thirty-three years share their home with a loving pack of three cats and one dog. In her spare time, she cherishes her role as Mimi to her only grandchild, indulges in the art of baking sourdough bread, and lends her voice to the Sugar Land Baptist Church choir.
